I don't think anything has been decided or talked about for the 787 as of yet. Still a few years until they receive the 787. But that being said I doubt they would go through Boston, just because of its proximity to YYZ and YUL

It has been suggested that CAN will be a new destination once the 787s come onboard – presumably a non-stop from YVR.

Other than on Rapidair YYZ-YUL/YOW runs and on YYZ-YHZ, all the other scheduled 767 routes for which the 788s will be mainly replacing them are +4 hours.

Would AC be interested in the B787-9 as a replacement for the A333s? The oldest AC A333 is only 8 years old so there is no hurry to replace them. Are the A333s getting the XM treatment?

Is the first B787-8 for AC scheduled to be delivered in 2010?

There was also an article recently suggesting YVR-MNL is another possible 787 route.

Yes. IIRC the first one goes into the shop after the summer schedule.

Nothing confirmed but just pure speculation regarding 787 routes:

All current 763 International routes including:

YYZ > South America
YYZ > TelAviv
YVR > Asia
YVR/YYC/YEG/YUL/YOW/YYZ > UK & Europe

Speculated routes include:

YVR > MNL
YVR > MEL
YYZ > DEL
YYZ > BOM

Well, I think the B767 routes out of YVR are:

YVR-YYZ
YVR-YUL (some)
YVR-YOW (seasonal?)
YVR-NRT (seasonal)
YVR-KIX
YVR-ICN (seasonal)
YVR-PVG
YVR-PEK
YVR-HNL-SYD (becoming direct on the B777-200LR)

But I bet that there has to be some routes where AC wants to add more capacity. Especially the China bound flights.

But then would YVR be a B787 haven after they start arriving?

Flown on: DC-10-30, B747-200B, B747-300, B747-300SR, B747-400, B747-400D, B767-300, B777-200, B777-200ER, B777-300

They should use some to add capacity in the Atlantic, as well as in south america. They could then run direct flights from Toronto to JNB, SCL, LIM, instead of add on legs etc.

Also more YVR-Europe service, along with the expansion of YVR asia...... should be exciting that is for sure!

Got to love the 777 on the YUL-YYZ route during familiarisation trials. FLew that a few times.. too bad this was not a frequent service.. nice plane!
