Today, 18 June 2007, Wizzair announced to open a new base at Poznan airport, in western Poland, on January 31, 2008. One Airbus 320 aircraft will be based at Poznan.
New routes will be:
TRF (Tue, Thu, Sun)
MMX (Tue, Thu, Sun)
DSA (Wed, Sat)
PIK (Mon, Fri)
The press release states that on the existing routes (NYO, LTN and the soon to be opened DTM) frequencies will be increased, although no schedules are loaded yet, so I don't have information yet on the frequencies.
The new destinations are already bookable. The timings of the flights indicate that the routes DSA and TRF will be used to fly a W-pattern to another city, so we might see more new destinations from TRF and DSA.
POZ-DSA 1410-1525
DSA-POZ2120-0030
POZ-TRF 0630-0810
TRF-POZ1255-1430
Also, DTM, LTN and NYO might now be operated with the PZN aircraft, so KTW and/or WAW might also see new flights as a result of this.
Was thinking of that one too, but it isn't a base.
TGM operates as follows:
BUD-TGM-BCN-TGM-BUD (TGM-BCN vv is a red-eye)
SOF-CIA-TGM-CIA-SOF
And then there is a flight LTN-TGM-LTN.
However, I still don't see where the aircraft is coming from that does LTN-TGM-LTN. It leaves LTN at 06:00, but nothing arrives there before 06:00. Does W6 overnight at LTN, but not really base?
SOF has a similar thing; there is an aircraft overnighting there, but it's not flying daily. Is there anybody who has more information on W6 schedule/network model. They are considerably more complex than FR.
