Quoting ThirteenRight (Thread starter): Eos adds a 4th daily JFK-STN flight, using its 4th 757. A 5th 757 is scheduled to arrive in December with a 6th aircraft being negotiated.
The poster misrepresented the additional service..
JFK-STN will be 4x on Sunday and Thursday (EOS highest demand Eastbound days)
*900am-900pm as of 9/9
STN-JFK will be 4x on Sunday and Friday (EOS highest demand Westbound days)
*1035pm-125am as of 9/9
Remember Eos also introduced a late evening JFK-STN additional flight to its schedule as well. This is interesting however that EOS is using its 4th aircraft for yet an additional JFK service. I have just off the phone with a friend of mine who says that just perhaps EOS is testing the waters with the daylight service eastbound, and late night service westbound to see if there is strong enough demand. If so the 5th aircraft may come into play to offer a daily daylight, and late night service. That would leave the 6th aircraft for a spare, or added frequency on one of the other flights. In the end EOS could be very well be poising themselves to be a leader in the JFK-London market.
With this additional service they have already surpassed Delta and Continental Airlines frequency, and are now zeroing in on Virgin Atlantic and their frequency. With the addition of the 5th and 6th aircraft they will be even with American Airlines frequency in the market. Thus causing a further erosion of yield and passengers with all of the above mentioned airlines.
