Cant wait to see the actual aircraft or interior pics.
The new a/c will come with new F and J and Y class seats.
There will be 12 F class full flat beds and lie angles J class seats.
Y will have new ergomatic with foot stool.
The plane will come with mood lighting and a new AVOD touch screen system.
As we know, all the 744 and 777 will get the new F and J class seats but not the Y.
Hope LY will understand that they will need to upgrade the Y class cabins in the the older 744 and 777. Especially after learning (from EL AL 001) that the new 777 will not be certified to make the longer long haul flights to LAX.

this is really ridiculous!!
so the best planes won't be able to fly to the farthest destinations?!
I hope to fly one of them from CDG!

Quoting LY777 (Reply 7): it seems that 787s will join LY fleet in 2011!!!
I will believe it when it becomes official, we already knew they plan on leasing a few 787 from 2011. Maybe the recent ILFC order also includes the LY aircrafts.

that doesn'tlook all to bad, nevertheless what I hate about the B777's and B747's is the stupid middle seat in C and I love that it is non existant in the A330 / A340's or one can configure their planes like SQ with their new C or Delta and Continental that only put in 2 seats in the middle. Regarding that newspaper article how can LY establish themselves as a serious airline when almost every aircraft is different. In 762's seats are like this in 2 772's you got AVOD in the rest + 744 also not. A key point to be a good airline is consistency in wahtever they do this goes from the product to the actual service.

Sounds like BS to me! Why would they not be able to go to LAX?
Range wise? no way
so what is it?

It really is some bullshit I mean the plane was bought with the same specs as the other planes unless LY screwed up there and regarding MTOW it should be the same. This will only causes again complications for the route planning why can't LY do things right.

What happened with ELAL 001? Why aren't the 777s allowed to fly to LAX?
Once you have tasted flight, you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward; for there you long to return

I think it has something to do with the MTOW. Its the same a/c with same engines, but the certification is different. It can always be upgraded later.
Maybe one of the pilots or someone from the manufactures will know better here ...

Wonderful pic!! Thanks!!
When is the plane going to be fully painted?
It is indeed weird that LY's newest and most comfortable airplanes won't be able to fly the airline's longest routes... There is obviously something unlogical, but I'd like to know how it came to such a result.
I bitterly miss the livery that should never have been changed (repetition...)

Quoting LY777 (Reply 22): maybe it is just a rumour that they won't be able to fly to LAX; let's wait and see...
Well, its not on he schedule for the next few months. No ECE or ECF to LAX.
25 SandroZRH: Don't wanna break the mood here guys, but why do you need to start a new thread for every move this new LY 772 seems to do? Is there something so spec

27 LY777: That's because we are waiting for this new a/c for a lot of time [Edited 2007-06-28 11:48:19]
28 LXA340: Then again it's it's about their best configured AC which can't make the longest flights etc it's a bit embaracing to make up such a big fuss and agai
29 JFK787NYC: Why do they even have to put this plane on ultra long routes like LAX? I thought these two aircrafts are totally for the New York/New Jersey market wh
30 El Al 001: Exactly. From what I know LY saved $2m for the lower MTOW certification. LAX gets the others 777s and when the time comes, the certification can be c
32 Amirs: Here is a pic of the seatmap for new 772 (ece and ecf). I got it from jonnye who posted it in "flyertalk.com". 12 pax First Class 35 pax Platinum/Busi
33 LXA340: In case I saw it correct, they got 2 tilets in C now yeah this is enough. Most airlines have not more than 2 toilets in a config up too 48 seats ca.
34 El Al 001: I can confirm that this is the LY new 772 LOPA. Amirs, you didnt believe me sometime ago regarding 12 C/cl - but i forgive you No final decision at LY

37 LXA340: Ok that makes sense then. Maybe that's why the increase to 12 F seats then although 8F and more C would've been maybe more worth it?

42 LY777: wow!!! It looks so great: just one question: why do they write on the a/c "Boeing 777-200" and not "Boeing 777-200ER"? (on their 767s, they precise ER
