We can try sometime. I've kicked around the idea with some of the locals before and we've never gone anywhere with it.

I'm from SDF so I could easily come up or we could plan one in SDF. I do work for UPS so those FX guys will have to take some ribbing!

Well, right now it's just two guys talking about it. I'd be excited to get a small group together sometime soon in IND, CVG or SDF.

I'm also in IND. I could do a meet on a weekday evening, maaaaybe on a weekend (I live in LAF but work in Fishers so I'm usually reluctant to make an extra trip down here on the weekend).
I have not been to any other a.net meets. What's the standard routine? Does somebody give some kind of formal presentation about a particular topic? Or do we just all sit around chatting?

that is good to see more of Hoosier native start to reply about this. It would be good for people that live in Indy or state of Indiana to get together to spotters at IND or whatever and have a gather to talk and have good time. More of club house for aviators. LOL!!

Hello Indiana a.netters!
This sounds interesting. Even though I'm not all that active in this forum, I think it would be fun and real interesting to meet with other local members.
How about just meeting up at a local bar or restaurant after work as a start? We've got plenty of them around town....any suggestions?

Maybe a cookout at my place? I might not have a big place but I have a decent grill and space for a keg

If I had a Twin Commander you'd never see my ass on here lol. I love to cook so keep it in mind. Of course I'd have to convince the wife and since I haven't been behaving much lately (abusing the bank account for personal reasons lol) its going to take some begging.
I have been to Indianapolis for a few days recently and stayed near IND:
When talking about spotting and photography, would would be your intentions ? Not that I am likely to join, but I found spotting locations around IND rather limited.
The top deck of the parking garage will put some a/c into your view.
One will need a rather long lens for good shots (something that I do not have, as can be seen by my rather bad pic's taken early May 2007).
Anybody with a better spotting location ?
The end of W Hanna Ave (where the road now turns in to a gravel road and hits the altered I-70 (= past the weather guys), gives some views of FX's apron, but "good" I would not say.
While sitting around there, I say a guy on the I-70 sliproad stopping his car, getting out of it for some pictures and then continue his drive. What would have been the fine for such a behaviour if the police / Highway Patrol would have came along ?

Thanks for the info.
For some reason that I cannot recall I did not venture off into Pierson Dr ...
Are there any restrictions displayed to access this road ?

What does everyone here like to eat? There is a TGI Fridays in the airport. I don't know how good it is for gatherings though. There is an area towards the back where you can see out the window. Its is more out of the way. Could be good. Maybe a cookout? Dinner somewhere else? Party?

Quoting HT (Reply 15): Are there any restrictions displayed to access this road ?
I think technically the parking lots are off-limits. But I've never been stopped. The roadway itself is a public street.

I'm from SDF too, but I don't work for UPS; I'm just an avid spotter out there, especially of the 747 classics!

I'm in ATL right now for 75F training and am scheduled to do more training at either EWR or IND soon. I could non-rev to either to make a meet. I've been trying to meet up with Anet member Indy for some time now.
Quoting UPSMD11 (Reply 2): so those FX guys will have to take some ribbing!
Please...IND is our home turf. You'd be getting the ribbing sir.
Let me know when you guys have dates for the IND meet.

I used to live in Indy when I worked for Rolls-Royce - at lunchtime would go down the South Perimeter Road, there's a car park there just beyond the FedEx apron, seemed pretty good for spotting, close to the southerly runway although would be limited to side-on pics and not catch some of the action elsewhere on the field.
