In the latest Australian way magazine, it shows the SYD-AUH route and says codeshare operated by Etihad.

I haven't seen any other information?

Has this been released generally or is it a typo?

I don't think the codeshare was confirmed.
It was talked about, but nothing official.

I'm sure nothing has been agreed or there would have been an announcement. And the following news item from late March indicates that QF is under pressure from other oneworld carriers not to cooperate with EY.

Hmmm it is very weird that it has appeared in the QF inflight magazine then! I thought it was strange when I saw it.

Would make sense for RJ to fly to HKG and connect to CX, JL and QF traffic.

Good feed to the middle east  Smile they would obviously need to expand their Middle East operations, but it would work.

Forget RJ,,,,

Qantas sees the future of avaition in the UAE. They are just doing this to stick it to Emirates & Qatar. As they have started to steal alot of their business. Like this they can help themselves by codesharing with the next lunatic with Billions of dollars invested per route.

Umm, I wouldnt compare EY with EK... EY is the real deal as far as the UAE lucrative national carriers are concerned and Qantas see that...
EK is nothing but a capacity dumping carrier... EY maybe havent got a large order book compared to EK but they sure have a much better product across the fleet and thats when size doesnt matter...

Please explain to me why is it worth it for a carrier to dump capacity on a market? How many seats must be sold to break even per plane? I still cannot understand how EMIRATES makes so much money!

I hear they are running at 50% on their JFK-DUBAI routes/

Hmm... twocents  If you dont pay a cent for the fuel operating Ex-DXB why would you even worry about the cost's/overheads involved in operating the route...? Not to mention the TAX free revenue...  banghead
One of the reasons the real carriers struggle to turn over profits...  box

It would be fantastic if that happened, EY could teach the likes of IB and even BA to an extent a thing or two about service.

Anyone else anticipate EY joining oneworld. It would be really good for both parties and I think EY would bring something valuable to the alliance. The airline already has alliances with some carriers in oneworld, and it looks like they will soon with QF.

And like EK413 said, EY have a very high quality product, much more so than EK (not that I'm complaining, I love seeing the 77ws at MAN)

I am not saying that an EY/QF codeshare is untrue, but with regard to shifting towards a specific alliance such as OneWorld I do not see this happening.

The only two carriers with which EY currently codeshares are BD & SN. I have seen details of possible further EY partners for the near future but can tell you that these combined with the current ones do not suggest an allegiance to any one of the major alliances.
