Methinks you need to pay closer attention to your TTG.

It's KD airlines, they certainly aren't a start up, and they were due to start service from LGW to KGD, on 15th June. Their website is http://www.kdavia.com.

Quote:
By 1990 KD Kaliningrad avia served over 30 destinations, domestically and internationally, on its Tuploev 134 and 154 aircraft.

In 2002 the state owned enterprise was privatised. From 2005 the airline received their first western aircraft and by the end of 2005 KD avia withdrew the last of their Russian aircraft. In this year the airline also changed its name to KD avia.

Fleet

Quote:
KD avia now operate an all Boeing fleet and as of March 2007 they had 16 Boeing 737-300's.

Hi there,

where weblink is: http://www.kdavia.ru

Are they lowcost or fullfare? Do they offer inflight service?
I just noticed that their german is quite old fashioned but quite funny to read!

No Manchester service then. They could have the market to themselves.

Even accounting for onward connections, I dont think anyone could make MAN-Kaliningrad work

It's all about onward connections - Kaliningrad is a very obscure destination in itself. Uzbekistan Airways often carried full loads from MAN to Tashkent but hardly anyone actually flew just to TAS. I don't see why a properly marketed flight with onward connections to MOW/LED can't work.
