Great to see TP in HAM.
To what destinations in Spain does TP fly from their hubs LIS and Oporto?

From LIS to MAD and BCN only. OPO, probably the same.

Portugalia serves many more.

Interesting development!

HAM should do particularly well in view of TAP's membership in StarAlliance.

I thought they would consider at least VIE, since there's no airlines in this route. What about increasing the frequencies of PRG & BUD to daily? Any chance?

According to the quoted article, flights will be sold under TP flight numbers but NI staff and fleet will remain the same, at least for the time being. I think they intend to keep the Portugalia brand, it has a good reputation.

I thought the same thing.  Sad

Right, and in addition to the O/D market TP LIS-VIE codesharing with OS would also connect 2 star alliance hubs.

Nice to see TP growing on Europe.

The number of portuguese people in HAM is amazing. Also there are ties between Brazil and HAM which TP could for sure take advantage.

They may need to reinforce their LIS-LAD service as well with TAAG being banned as of next week...

Flew with them recently via ZRH to LIS. A320 and the service on board left a good impression.

Wasn't there already talk recently that TP was adding flights to LAD ?

Yeah, daily operations to LAD but that has nothing to do with TAAG being banned from the EU.

My understanding is that the flights to the new routes will be operated by PGA (but with TP nr as well)

Also with the acquisition of PGA by TAP, it is planned to have flights between LIS and OPO every 2 hours.

TAP will readjust and create new regional routes for PGA, in order to feed their long haul destiantions as well.

You're right, they're gone. Funny that there are two weekly flights LIS-KIV (and I have yet to meet the first Moldovan in Portugal) and none LIS-VIE...

Moldavans are the 6th biggest (not EU) foreign community in Portugal.
(2004 data and obviously just counting the legalised immigrants)

And the flight is operate by Ukrain Airlines (TP code shares)

Regarding VIE, does it really justify to have the route? Why did OS drop the summer route they had between VIE and LIS? Probably the loads do not justify to have this flight....

PS operates to KBP and not KIV. KIV flight is operated by 9U and TP does not codeshare.

TAP AND PGA TO ENHANCE SERVICES DELIVERED TO PASSENGERS

As of next July 1st, 2007, PGA will start operating flights at TAP service exclusively, according to the terms of the contract meanwhile established. Therefore, PGA passengers are kindly requested to use, as from that day onwards, TAP contact / assistance centres (airports; reservations / call centres; site and FFP

Both brands – TAP and PGA – will be maintained as independent ones. TAP will assume the role of the only marketing brand to passengers, while PGA will act as an operating carrier to other airlines.

Up to October-end, PGA fleet's utilization will be gradually maximized, with flights timetables being reinforced and a more suitable allocation of flights provided. In addition, more destinations are to be added to the network, such as Seville and Hamburg departing Lisbon and Rome and Brussels departing Oporto.
