Hello,

Just a quick question to all in the know. I am flying from YOW to YYC in September which will be aboard an 320. On the Air Canada website, it states that some of the 320's have the XM project installed already. SO my question is, what are the chances that the 320 that I fly on will have XM? I REEEEEALLY want to have my own PTV!  Smile

Thanks!!

Way to soon to tell. Until all are converted, it's simply luck of the draw.

Good Luck!

From what I have heard, all or almost all A320s have been converted.

I was lucky to get on the 2nd plane converted (when there were just 2 done) YVR-YOW, and it was great. Have fun if you fly it!

Very useful site. Should be pretty safe that you will get on one, as long as your flight isn't upgraded to an A321.

Or downgraded to a 319.  Smile

Also be aware that all features on the system may not be working yet. I flew on two 320's from YYZ to YOW and back. One had the music channels working and one didn't. The movies etc. weren't working but Air Canada's video was.

i've been both amazed and disappointed with the XM system. I had one flying winnipeg to toronto once and it was fantastic, good selection of movies, shows, etc. Then i have had other times where the lack of movies to choose from was disappointing. Only one choice for the 'hollywood' section was not really that much choice, and even more disappointing considering the hollywood section is probably the most popular. Also, the same tv shows all the time. How many times can i watch the pilot episode of the new adventures of old christine?

Does the programming available on the system change with the route/aircraft/duration?

"Upgraded"? Let's see, none of the A321s have the new interiors yet so going from an A320 to an A321 would hardly be an upgrade. Upgauged, perhaps.

When is AC planning to start the upgrade on the A321s?

YOW-YYC doesn't get upgauged to an A321 very often; maybe once a month, so chances are you won't have to worry about a 321.
