hi today i was on a CO flight from IAH-SEA, yes we tookoff right after the bad weather (50 mph!!!!!!) before we tookoff a large klm asia 747-400 made an emergancy landing at iah, or so i think, when it landed emergancy crews followed it all the way to the end of the runway, anyone know what it was? i wasn't able to find anything about it, since we took off on a 4 hour flight.
and also at the gate parked next to a 737-300 when the 737-300 turned on its engines a cloud of black smoke came out, is that normal.
thanks in advance, jamesjimlb

yes this does happen rather a lot. If you have not seen it before it can be alarming, but those who work at an airport probably see it on a weekly or even daily basis, maybe at some of the larger airports.
