Future Khartoum Airport

Here is a video I cam across of the Future Khartoum Airport. Dose any one knows if this project already going on or it’s still only in the planning phase. If yes dose any one have any updates, photos, news …ect about this project.

I read the construction started last fall (October IIRC). It's a shame they are allowed to build new airports when they have a genocide taking place.

It looks like more airport than they will need for a while, but its great to have vision and provide for future needs. Is this just a proposal or is it a done deal?

If this is going to be the KRT airport it is a huge step forward for the airport. Right now it is way to constrained and cannot grow anywhere. It is now right now smack in the middle of a built up area which isn't really good and does not really give a nice presentation of the country to any visitor, with the current Darfur situation cannot imaging people going there on leisure. But still a nice airport can give a good first impression of a country.

Zanair flight, please hold on finals as we have to clear rhino's off the runway. Next flight: AMS-FRA-SIN-FRA-AMS
