Jetstream Express have ceased operations. They flew Jetstream 31s from Blackpool to Aberden, Southampton and Belfast City

Yikes. Is there a kid that started an airline back on your side of the pond? IIRC, there was a young kid involved in getting an airline started. What ever came of that? Was this the airline?

You're thinking of Martin Halstead and Alpha1, which failed to ever get off the ground after proposing a Oxford - Cambridge and then an Oxford - Isle of Man service. No relation, except they both used (or proposed to use) Jetstream's, and they both cited a lack of commercial viability for not continuing / starting service.

Thanks for the info! I was hoping the kid could have gotten it, but he sure sounds to have a bright future ahead of him.

So no Belfast flights any more for BLK after the withdrawal of Jet2 and now Jetstream Express. The Manx2 service is, the last time I looked, not really useful.

Wonder if Flybe was ever interested in offering a BHD-BLK service - the Q400 seems to be just the right type of aircraft given Jet2s load factors.

Jet2 are still on the route, until October at least.

Not quite correct. They did start EDI-IOM but if I remember correctly, the loads would have been 100% if they had employed a C172 in the short while they lasted.

Hmm, yes, I was mistaken. Only the day return option has gone, indeed.

Back in the days of Jersey European and British European they flew this route, later on as a summer Saturday service. This was before Jet 2 and Ryanair arrived at Blackpool, and BLK was a much smaller airport

Indeed Flybe has links with BLK dating back to the 1980's and a BLK based airline called Spacegrand - they were later merged into Jersey European
