Aeroflot Routemap Errors

Has anyone taken a look at Aeroflot's route map images lately? I ask because they have many cities around the world marked in positions far from where they actually are located.

For example:

- Washington DC is marked as though it lies in South Carolina
- New York City is marked as though it lies in North Carolina
- Berlin is marked as though it lies in central Poland
- Munich is marked as though it lies on the Italy/Austria border

I should hope these errors do not reflect their actual navigation abilities  Wink
(calm down, just joking, I know their crews are professional)

Check it out for yourself at http://aeroflot.ru/eng/company.asp?ob_no=3561

Well, there *is* a town in Texas called Mineral Wells (west of Dallas/Ft. Worth), but I suspect no Russian airline flies there.  wink

I chuckled upon viewing that map. Also of note: Havana is shown as being on the SOUTH shore of Cuba. And Toronto has been moved to the current location of Buffalo, New York.  Smile

I can understand their "relocation" of a few cities throughout Europe, considering what a dense network they seem to have there.

But since they only serve 5 or 6 destinations in North America... why move them around?

Thanks! You learn something new every day, I just put it down to a mistake considering how badly designed and set up the rest of the site was - I think it was either Pulkovo or Rossiya Airways, probably the latter. Now I would be concerned if they fly to somewhere called "Cheese Sandwich", must take another look  Wink

both the same thing these days - and a very fine outfit to fly, too. HAM - LED with FV was an utter pleasure, both times on a lovely tu-154m with giant seats and pitch!

Anchorage has also been renamed to "Anchorang", giving a nice Korean ring to the city's name.  Smile

Hola!

Yeah! It's true. Barcelona -- BCN has just moved about 100 miles south, on the Ebre river and some miles inland as well...  Wow!  Wow!  Wow!

Peanuts compared to the total disappearance act that some American airlines practised with Cuba. I used to fly to Panama with CO back in the 90s and the inflight magazine showing CO routes at the time did not even show the contour of the island.... so the Florida strait was much wider and Honduras, and especially, Nicaragua were closer to the US.

Salut!
