I Believe ACs first 77L was scheduled to make its first revenue flight from YYZ to LHR last night - Does anyone know if this happened? I also noticed that it was not scheduled to come back today, which seems odd and may have just been an anomaly in the schedule. Is this plane supposed to stay on LHR service until #2 arrives?

According to two flightrackers, it operated AC 869 LHR-YYZ today (Jul. 1) for the return. It left LHR late, which only makes sense as AC 869 is slated for departure at 0830, while the inbound flight from YYZ (AC 848) only gets into LHR at 0845. On the AC schedule, the 77L was supposed to be used on today's AC 857 (1300).

Next flights: YQM-YYZ-YOW v.v. / YQM-CUN v.v. / YQM-YUL-YWG v.v. / YSJ-YYZ-SEA-SFO / SFO-YYZ-YOW-YQM / YQM-YYZ-MUC-TXL /

Actually, the 77L was supposed to operate as AC857/01JUL, but AC856/30JUN YYZ-LHR (A340) diverted to YYT due to a mechanical. That plane was suppsed to turn to AC869. So, AC869 switched from the A340 to the 77L with a 1:54 delay.

Off topic, I saw a AC E190 land at AUS today. I wasn't aware they were offering direct service with their own metal. Can any AC employees explain?

Thanks in Advance.

That was the 2nd day in a row we had to divert to AUS. Yesterday a Jazz flight from YYC-IAH did the same thing. A few weeks ago we had a YYZ-DFW flight that diverted to Abilene. Must be fun for those pilots, passengers, and air traffic controllers!!!

The first LR is doing the trans-atlantic runs until the second one arrives; then they'll both be assigned to YYZ-HKG replacing the 345s. I'm assumng that the 3rd LR (Delivery scheduled for November/December) will do the atlantic runs as well before the 4th arrives in early '08, when that pair will go to YVR-SYD. Anyone else know otherwise?

701 will join the rotation for now, it will fly NRT,FRA,LHR and the odd PEK just like the 77W's. Once we get the next 77L I think they will replace the HKG route, while the 345's will fly PEK untill they are sent off to the next airline (is it US airways?)

Congrats to AC on their brand new bird.

I know the 77Ls will also run trans-coons in Canada. They will be operated as flight 033 YYZ-YVR. I also looked ahead and there will be some domestic 77W flights in the future.

The 77L will operate from YYZ to YVR as extensions to AC 33/34 between YVR and SYD. Presumably this not only utilizes the aircraft but positions it to operate 77L services from YYZ, since it is my impression that otherwise the 77L would be somewhat of an orphan in YVR.
