Hello
I just heard on the end of the 11 o'clock newcast here in philadelphia just before they were cutting to the Jay Leno Show that a Japan Airlines plane was hijacked with 151 people. The did no say anymore than that cause they were cutting to the show. If anyone has more details, please post them.

i have not heard anything about this hijacking yet. I'll watch CNN and CNBC and post any new details that they report. I hope this situation end peacefully.

Here in Singapore, there was a report that an All Nippon Airways flight from Tokyo Haneda to Sapporo was hijacked by a lone person. There were 503 passengers and 14 crew onboard the B747-400. But it seems that it has ended with the hijacker subdued. No casulties reported.
All for the moment.

I heard that the captain of the 747-481D has later died in the process of tieing up the hijacker. Flight 61 from Tokyo Haneda to Sapporo New Chitose.
He demanded the pilot to fly to Yokota Air Force Base (USAirforce base near Tokyo).

Yes it was reported by CNN that the pilot was killed in the scuffle, due to loss of blood from stab wounds. This would have been a great tragedy if it had not been for the copilot who landed the plane safely with 517 people on board. It doesnt tell what happened to the hijacker im assuming he was captured.
