Here is for tonight's boring thread... does anyone know why this COA B738 is flying into PTK tonight?

If you look down farther, it has the flight scheduled as a 738.

As to why, I have no idea  Smile

Cheers,

Since they're bringing the airplane up from CLE, COA1901 is almost certainly a positioning flight for a charter of some sort.

CO dispatch is yet to file the flight plan for the departure from PTK, but it'll show up here when they do.

How about the Indians coming in to play the Tigers on Tuesday? Why not Metro though?

The Yankees have flown into or out of PTK before when they played the Tigers. They also charter on CO.

And it does look like it's the Indians.

Probably depends on where the team is staying while in town. If they are staying at the Townsend in Birmingham or The Park Place Hotel in Rochester, then it makes more sense to fly into PTK instead of DTW.

I always thought most visiting teams for the Tigers stayed at the Ritz in Dearborn, but I'm sure each team has their own preference.

For reference, FlightAware shows it departed PTK for CLE as COA1931 at 1:23 AM (arriving in CLE at 1:42 AM) -- on the ground for less than an hour

I know a lot of the NHL teams that play the Red Wings stay at hotels in Troy/Rochester, although I have seen a lot of the NHL team planes at DTW.
