Well, since my idea was quickly dissed by most of you, there again it was just an idea. I do see Phoenix as a great arpt that could become a gateway if an airline, maybe DAL or someone else decided to compete against BA and LH. I was just saying or throwing out the idea of AWA trying it out. Just pure imagination, you know? Yes, AWA did operate B 747's in the mid to late 80's to Nagoya and LAS and JFK, but since they went bankrupt, they have not operated the type anymore. Thanks, I appreciate you guys answering my posts!!!

I think most (if not all) U.S. carriers will let the European airlines operate European services from PHX.

I'd be surpised if any more European carriers came to PHX after LH.

Where was your oringinal post?

AWA not is going to expand overseas anytime soon. They learned their lesson from the failed Transpac foray in the late 80's/early '90's.

I have heard that KLM could be starting into Pheonix and also that BA are doing very well on LGW-PHX
