I was looking at S7 Airlines column.

How come the 10 737s are not listed as bought? but the 15 787 are.

I'd say that is sure bet considering that the other 5 pending 777s are LR's.

That order was placed in November 2006, not this year.

3 x 737 for BBJ
1 x 787 BBJ

Any idea who the BBJs are for? And what the delivery slot for the 787BBJ is?

Quoting NYC777 (Reply 3):
Yes, it's 145 orders for 787 orders.

That's about one and a half AA orders  Smile

or, only 358 orders to 1,000. Is it possible that the 787 could have 1,000 orders before EIS?  Wow! Come on AA, DL, CO, UA and BA - place your orders already!

Anybody have any guesses or insight why they ordered just one 777 all of a sudden?

My gues is that since apparently no one else is applying for that 2008 China slot they figure that they will need this one for that route.  twocents

Anyone else?

Yeah they probably ordered it and I think they're one of the 4 remaining UFOs but they haven't revealed themselves. Let's see what happens next week after the 787 is unveiled.

Probably a top-up order. Having six would give them a bit more scheduling flexibility for three city pairs.

My guess is that either

a) that's all the financing they could find
b) they only had one option expiring this week

More than likley a.

Why do you say that about the financing?
Do you think that banks don't want to finance 777s now that the 787 is around the corner or do you think that it has something to do with DL themselves?
Don't forget that DL lined up a slew of banks who were all too willing to finance their exit loans. Also DL does have enough cash to just buy one (or ten).

The amazing thing here is the relatively strong showing of the VIP 787 at this stage of its development, and the steady sales for the 737 BBJ.

DL needs another 4-6 B-777-200LRs, don't they?

When will they order their B-787-300/-800/-900?

Will their remaining B-737-700/-800 orders have winglets?

Not really with the 737BBJ. Given it's maturity as a product, and Boeing's ability to attractively price the "shell" it's a great value.

Plus, unlike most private aircraft, a BBJ can be converted to an airliner if market conditions warrant it.

Only 2 of which DL will actually take delivery of, as the others are essentially being sold upon delivery.

Quoting KC135TopBoom (Reply 21):

At least, but for now, with the 6th 77L order added, they'll now have sufficient planes to operate 4 flights with the 77Ls, compared to only 3 flights with the old number of 5 on order.

Quoting KC135TopBoom (Reply 21):
When will they order their B-787-300/-800/-900?

This quarter, though the initial order likely will only be for the -8.

Quoting KC135TopBoom (Reply 21):

All 73Gs will be delivered with winglets, as will the 2 738s on order they'll actually take delivery of.
