Can any of our friends at AA kindly post a schedule of the new Retro 738? Thanx!

I know it flew President-elect Bush from IAD to Texas, presumably Austin, yesterday afternoon. I also know the trip was delayed for three hours due to icing conditions in Washington...the plane was shown on CNN this morning getting de-iced.

I got to see the plane at IAD on Monday evening at IAD. The plane was parked in a remote area, I guess sercurity reasons. That was the plane Bush was on from Austin, TX to Dulles.

I saw it on TV too. This look is my favorite of AA ever. This looks good on 757s too.

The media was wondering why Bush and Gore talked for only 10-minutes yesterday at the VP mansion. Some said it must have been a cold conversation. Others noted that there's a shortage of time for Bush to get the needed appointments and decisions made before January- so Gore's wasn't an important visit.

Those might be true (part or all), but I think Bush needed to get to the 737 quick or chance being grounded by weather conditions. The media wanted other than the "weather" to be the reason.

Grrr...this plane WILL be mine (from a photography point of view that is). That damn retro 757 has eluded my camera for the past year and a half, and it is really tickin' me off!!

This 738 will be mine. Oh yes. It will be mine.

I'd appreciate continual updates if possible - especially if it's headed to SAN...

AAR90 and Canned Spam,

How do you guys get these schedules? Is this information made public or is it just because you work for the airline?

I live in Chicago, but unfortunately these flights won't be photo friendly because of daylight. How can I get on constant schedule of this plane and the retro 757?

Can I call someone at American Airlines?

Thanks,

Dave

Yeah, I'd be really interested in the upcoming schedule of these planes too. ANY info regarding how we can get these schedules would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks!

Midway,

These guys most likely work for AA and have AAcess to SABRE for the schedule. Thanks for the heads up...If you could keep us posted for when it's going to be in ORD, I'd really appreciate it.

>How do you guys get these schedules?

Looks like CannedSpam pulled up the same computer file I did. It is an AA database file that shows the planned schedule for AA's aircraft (only one aircraft at a time).

>Is this information made public or is it just
>because you work for the airline?

You gotta work for AA _and_ have computer access to AA's Flight Operating System (inside SABRE).

>How can I get on constant schedule of this plane and the retro 757?

I don't think there is anything that will provide constant updates. Certainly not on a regular basis. If someone keeps bugging me, I _MIGHT_ find time to copy the file contents here, but don't count on it. File accuracy is only good for current flight. In this business, things change... especially wintertime going thru ORD!

>Can I call someone at American Airlines?

Couldn't hurt, but no one answering AA's reservations telephones has access to this information (RES is totally different area of computer systems).

The Astrojet did fly into AUS on the 19th. I saw the tail of it when me and a freind were paying the parking attendant to leave. I thought it was kind of cool to to see the Astrojet in AUS.

Calling AA is almost futile. I have tried for one month to find a single soul who

1) knows what I'm talking about (737 and 757)

2) cares

3) has access to the system.

I'm almost convinced that they want to keep it a secret

Keep in mind, information in advance may unreliable. Airlines reorute aircraft quite frequently due to maintenance, crew, weather, ATC, or any number of other reasons.
