That's great news for the Seattle area. I wonder if this will make our local news...we'll see. Also, hopefully, the method of purchasing tickets to Russia's far east will be far easier than when Mavial Magadan was flying to ANC. I'm looking forward to seeing Russian aircraft back in the US.

AS used to run MD80s (I think) on routes similar to this back in the 90s. Flight would start in SEA and end in VVO. They also served Petropavlansk, Yuzhno, and Magadan. Always wanted to try out that flight, maybe one of these years...

It's great to see the return of Russian aviation to ANC and SEA. I don't know much about ANC, but I know that SEA has a long history of Russian aviation with Aeroflot service to SVO and the Russian Far East. AS obviously had flights to Russia, as well as some of the "babyflots" that sprung up after the USSR dissolved. I was sad to see the last vestige of Russian aviation in Seattle leave when SU pulled their SEA-SVO service a few years back. Does anyone know if it will ever return?

Technically the didn't pull it, they suspended it. Infact, I believe they stated that they eventually did want to come back, I'm not sure on that though...
