Before any conclusions can be drawn, it'd be important to know if the shares were sold on the open market, or to another institutional investor. Selling out of a position isn't always a bad thing--the shares don't just go into the void, there's a buyer on the other side. Did Fidelity make an overall profit on their investment? An overall loss? We don't know.
