Thank you for being a loyal AAdvantage® member and for your support of American Airlines. As you may have learned, American Airlines is asking the United States Department of Transportation (DOT) for authority to fly nonstop from Chicago O'Hare International Airport to Beijing, China, beginning March 25, 2009.
We are asking valued AAdvantage members like you to help us acquire this flight. DOT bases its decision on many factors, including the amount of public support that an applicant has for its proposed route. By signing your name to our online petition you can show your support.
How will you benefit if American is able to fly from Chicago to Beijing? A new nonstop flight from Chicago to Beijing will offer you:
An expanded network of exciting destinations to visit and more ways to both earn and redeem AAdvantage miles
Easy connections via Chicago from 73 cities in 29 states and the District of Columbia
Access to 24 destinations within China through our codeshare partner China Eastern Airlines
Please sign our petition today. It's easy to do. Visit www.flytochinaonaa.com for more information about American Airlines and our proposed flight to Beijing.
Again, thank you for your support and we look forward to serving you onboard American Airlines soon.

I received the same email as an AAdvantage member. Even though I have no plans whatsoever to travel to Beijing, I do believe that competition is a always a good thing and that this will surely help the Chicagoland economy. I signed the petition. If another airline had also requested me to do so, I wouldn't hesitate.
If you think this would somehow benefit you directly or indirectly, why not help support them? I say go for it.
