I'm afraid I don't know the dates exactly, but in 1993-1994, Iberia's service to Los Angeles was actually a codeshare with the now defunct Carnival Airlines. Carnival flew an A300 between Miami and Los Angeles. Passengers could connect in Miami to Iberia's flights to Spain and Latin America.

One little but important piece of information is that Iberia continued to serve LAX once it discontinued service with its own aircraft by a daily code-share with Carnival Airlines A300 via MIA. This lasted for about 5 years and even featured IB flight attendants onboard as assistants for a little while. In addition LAX side handling was with IB ground staff at TBIT with flight very much co-branded as Iberia-Carnival.
