Hi there,
I just recently bought a JFK-IST return on AZ for Sept (fingers crossed), hopefully they are around by then. First time with AZ, so some questions:
-DL had an offer to use the board room at JFK for an extra $25, is that good with my AZ ticket? Can I purchase it at the JFK board room?
-Can I still line up at Business counters with my Skyteam Silver card during check-in?
-I will be flying on the 772ER, 321, and a MD series, what to expect on the MD?
-What to do in FCO and MXP in two hours besides spotting?

Thanks so much

SkyTeam Elite status will allow you to access the first/business class check-in lines at any SkyTeam airport.

As for lounge, you need to be Elite Plus or in paid business class to access the lounge (if you're AZ Elite, you might be able to, but I'm not 100% sure). You can't pay $25 for access as you can Delta's Crown Rooms.

TK,
I find AZ's MD's to be some of the best around actually, they are well cared for and very clean, the nice thing is that they will many times board from the rear stairs which for me is a treat as it is almost never done in the states.
MXP and FCO have plenty to do for two hours, the morning bank is quite busy at both and should provide some good spotting but if you get tired of that there is plenty of shopping, my favorite being the Ferrari store at MXP.

Good luck with AZ,
ORDPIA

Sorry, the Crown Room Club is in Terminals 2 & 3, and AZ flies out of T1. I don't think there is any lounge you can pay to access at Terminal 1.

Hi TK787
sorry but this is not very clear to me : you have a round trip ticket paid to AZ (AZ flights numbers) with flights actually operated by AZ . You fly coach class and you have a Delta mileage card in which you have a silver status (equivalent to "elite" status in skyteam) ?
If this is correct :
- your elite status in skyteam (DL) allows you to check-in at business class counters for all skyteam airlines, and to have a priority tag on your checked bags.
- As AZ departs in JFK from Term 1, DL doesn't have any lounges there and you cannot have access to AZ lounges (you need to fly J or F class or have an elite plus status in a skyteam FFP). Usually, European airlines doesn't grant a day access to lounges by paying a day fee, as American carriers often do.

Quoting Goldorak (Reply 4):
to have a priority tag on your checked bags.

Priority luggage handling is a SkyTeam Elite Plus perk, not a SkyTeam Elite perk. Only premium cabin travelers and SkyTeam E+ get the priority tag. Of course, some airlines might be a bit more generous with this (CO gives priority luggage to any SkyTeam Elite on any flight). But the published benefit is international flights for Elite Plus members.
