Why is everyone departing late from BHX today? There are couple of flights getting away in good time, but most have been, or are still being, late.

As of 1723, the situation is

ZB922 - departed 1h 42m late
BE 511 - departed 1hr 38m late
FCA 3484 - departed 33 minutes late
BE 412 - still on final call 1h18 minutes late
TOM 4761 - departed 10 minutes late
MYT 567 - departed 9 minutes early
KM 173 - departed 12 minutes late
WW 1723 - still on final call 38 minutes late
BE 7047 - departed 17 minutes late
BE 7061 - departed on time
KL 1430 - departed on time
WW 1023 - departed 15 minutes late
BE 7092 - departed 8 minutes late
WW 1033 - departed 8 minutes late
WW 1343 - still boarding 18 minutes late
LH 4917 - delayed
BE 7127 - departed 5 minutes early
AF 5139 - still on final call 3 minutes late

To me it seems pretty normal. I consider delays up to 30 minutes not really that bad. According to IATA, a plane departing 15minutes after scheduled departure is considered "on time" (long haul; for short haul it's 5 minutes).

Frac! According to Flightstats.com, WW1343 is estimated to arrive 8 minutes early after its 33 minutes late departure. Has it got a hurricane up its arse or something?

I better go.

Nothing out of the ordinary after experiencing delays at Birmingham. I was delayed 6 hours because of fog! Apparently, Birmingham suffers from fog lol
