There was heavy fog which delayed flights from Melbourne - could this have also affected Sydney ops?

RE: Melbourne Delays

Quote:
Fog in Melbourne this morning resulted in lengthy delays which prevented aircraft from landing. This has impacted other flights across the network today, Saturday 21 July 2007. Due to the fog disruptions we expect further international and domestic delays throughout the day.

It was due to the MEL fog delays. 29 flights either cancelled and or diverted, not including those that were delayed

QF073 delay was a result of late inbound aircraft from MEL....
The remaining flights are late inbounds from other ports QF580 in bound from PER operated the QF187, QF064 late inbound from JNB to operate the QF005 and the QF032 was the only available metal to operate the QF001... Did I mention the QF001 departed SYD 1048 local time in SYD, lucky she beat the curfew...  Wink

I think you'll find there have been delays in getting a/c back from LHR due to flooding, most LHR-Australia flights that left on friday & saturday are departing 90mins or more later than usual.

What aircraft was QF580? QF187 is supposed to be a A330-300
