At 2:10 this afternoon there was what appeared to be a near midair collision between a Cessna 180J and an AA MD-82 flt 2215 from Dallas/Forth Worth Intl (DFW). The Cessna seemed to have made a wide circle to land. Don't know if the pilot mistook 30L for the GenAv 29 runway but right at that moment the MD was landing on 30L.

All of a sudden the Cessna throttled up and banked a very steep portside as the MD only a few hundred feet slightly above & to the right of it closed in very fast but executed a missed approach. From the angle of the Coleman Avenue viewing lot it was a very close call! The aircraft invovled were N7821K & N443AA.

Does anyone have more information about this?

Thanks

Wow, that's a close call...I don't have any info about that but I second the request.

I've taken Cessnas from nearby RHV to SJC; It's really unnerving when you're on final for 29 and there's some big jet landing 30L...

On http://www4.passur.com/sjc.html it's at 1407. There was an HP A319 just departed 30L for additional complication on the go-around.

Runway 29 centerline is 700 ft left of 30L, and light aircraft for 29 often turn base to short final alongside 30L jet arrivals. Certainly gives the pilots something more to worry about.
