Starting next Dec 13th, American Airlines will restart service between Barranquilla and Miami.
Equipment will be 737-800.
This route was suspended by AA 5 years ago due to the crisis in aviation.
Finally good news for BAQ and I hope they really fix some problem in the airport.

Crisis in aviation? Wasn't it so they could use the authority to start the long-awaited service to Medellin?

No, It was as the GM said crisis in Aviation. AA has the slots but never used them, until now that Spirit asked the DOT for rights to fly to Colombia, and AA decided to use them just to block Spirit, otherwise they will never re-open BAQ.

They still have labor problems in BAQ, and they havent been able to resolve them. Take a look to this link:

The BAQ airport has been recently involved in many problems due to vultures that fly around the runway. Let´s wait for the Aerocivil or city´s plans to solve this major problem.
