Singapore airlines fly A340's to Pakistan connectiong both Lahore and Karachi with the same flight like in a domestic leg, Pakistan is a small country and no other airline has operated such a service so far , why do SQ do that ? why dont they have a seperate flight to Lahore using the A310 perhaps

im not dumb o.k! i know a foreign airline cannot operate a domestic service in any country, this is the routing of the flights;

what i wanted to know was why dont SQ operate seperate flights for both cities

Most likely, there is not enough demand to warrant a seperate flight to both Lahore, and Karachi. Thus, SQ can fill up one plane, and operate it into both cities.

I think that it offers the best service. Because the flight is fairly long, it is better to operate the more comfortable and better equipped A340s which are the second smallest in the fleet. The A310s are generally, I mean generally, used on the shorter Asian routes although Male is a 6 hour flight. Flying via Karachi to Lahore I would imagine is not one of the very profitable sectors like Singapore to Istanbul via Dubai but I think SIA likes to say that they fly to so many destinations. It is a complex issue that only SIA can explain I'm afraid!
