Flight track shows it in the air for 15 minutes, but it shows the plane went down to 500 feet then up to 1000 the next reporting point. It probably flew by the tower before burning off fuel, but it is recorded as arriving at the flyby.

You know, you'd actually probably be surprised how many emergencies happen at airlines every day. My airline is a fairly large regional and we probably average 1 emergency a day.... and we're just one of the many airlines. One day, we had 4 emergency arrivals in the span of one hour into one of our hubs... that was very out of the ordinary though.
