BG005...somewhat delayed from DAC & DXB...finally arrived at LHR...on a full emergency due no hydraulics! S2-ADE it was...

Landed ok...blocked runway 27R for 20 mins....towed onto the gate...then police called due to a fight onboard!!

What a classy airline  Yeah sure

and can someone shed light on the rumour that they've just sold the somewhat wrecked 313 in DXB?!?!

That airline is a disaster waiting to happen !!.

I think they were very lucky with the incident in DXB.

The UK is happy ban other airlines from their airspace... How the hell has Biman slipped through the net???

Obviously I am no expert and do not know about how their aircraft are cared for. But from a passenger perspective this airline is a joke and if I was on one of their aircraft I would seriously be concerned about safety!

I agree...why ban PK, who in comparison with BG (and others) weren't in bad shape? All I can think is politics...or a nice back-hander somewhere!

Looks like you are correct. From http://www.planespotters.net/Production_List/Airbus/A310/698.html :
Name: "City of Hazrat Khan Jahan Ali", dmgd 12Mar07 at DXB 0(236) when nose gear collapsed during aborted take-off due to engine fire, dmgd 22Apr03 at DAC during storm by a Fokker F28

May this a/c be called "ill-fated" or "rugged, even in the hands of the current operator" ?
Btw it is the 5th last A310 built.

How would you know? Are you an expert? insider? I don't think so. Incidents can happen, and it doesn't mean BG's fleet is in bad shape. Yes, incidents like this shouldn't happen, but they can, even with well maintained aircraft, while badly maintained aircraft can get through without serious incidents, it's, among much more, also a matter of luck.

So please stop the pathetic assumptions about fleet health until you actually get some facts.

Wow, easy tiger! Do you have shares in BG or something....  crazy

Actually, working with BG flighs for more years than I care to remember, yes, i guess i've earned the right to make a personal comment on the state of their a/c. Plus speaking to the mx staff who constantly fix has helped give some insight.

What's your claim to flame except being easily excited?!?!

Sorry, yes, typo. It's S2-ADF that's currently here..waiting AOG parts.

How many serviceable a/c do BG have left, now the DC10's are grounded, and 313 -ADE is in DXB?

When were the DC10s Grounded?? Did I miss the thread on that??

You are all right.. BG is a joke.. I remember gettting flamed on here a long time ago for saying something along those lines. But like LHRBlueSkies, I have also worked with BG for nearly 3 years and saw for myself what a real state they are in.
I dont know whether to wish them good luck, or just laugh??

Never give up..

Guess that makes us 'flammin' nuisance' to BG!!!!

Haven't seen the 10's for a very long time, and their lack of (serviceable) a/c (sorry SandroZRH!!) is one reason why they have gone from 7 flights a week ex-LHR to 5, and even that is looking doubtful...

Don't like seeing any carrier go under, but they don't deserve any loyality - they have been destroyed by corruption and inept management. It was cool yesterday - tech BG 313 on gate 338 - superb 9W 773 on 340!!! Hmmm.....
