Hi there,
Just a quick question, I'm flying from LHR tomorrow at 09:40am and just wondering which runway (does anyone know) will the planes be taking off from at that time? I'm hoping its the runway nearest to the Visitor Centre (or Heathrow Academy) as some family want to watch the plane take-off so they know I'm on my way.

Based on the TAF for EGLL, winds are going to be light out of the west, so I'd guess 27L (more likely) or 27R.

Well the winds are blowing across the runways so it could be either runway but isnt 27R the prefered one for landing? Hope not cause thats the one I want to be taking off from!!

This week, when westerly operations are in use, 27L will be the departure runway before 1500 and 27R after 1500. If it's easterly ops then 09R will be the takeoff runway at all times.

Whoops, just realised that I misinterpreted the data.....I meant to say that before 1500 27R will be the dep runway, as Swiftski and Luxair66 have since pointed out ......sorry!
