Why Was UAL1428 At SFB

Posted (5 years 9 months 3 weeks 2 days 4 hours ago) and read 1090 times:

Today around 6pm United 1428 Landed at SFB. I assume it was a diversion for weather at MCO. I thought it was odd that a United flight would divert to SFB rather than say TPA or JAX. Does anyone know if there was some type of emergency that caused the diversion to SFB?

Looks like they prolly shot an approach and went missed. Might not have had fuel for an alternate as it may not have been required (don't know the TAFs at the time of departure). Quick landing at SFB would've been ideal.

We had a pretty good storm at MCO around 5:30pm or so. It came in from the southeast. It was windy and rainy but surprisingly pretty low in terms of lightning at least for a Florida storm.

I know a couple Southwests diverted to JAX and Deltas to TPA. I saw a Southwest racing in to land right as the storm was about to hit while I was on the corner of Conway and Hoffner about 2 miles north of MCO. I thought the Southwest jet had its gear up though so it might have done a missed approach.
