My brother was supposed to fly on CO2877 EWR-MSP today and waited over 2 hours on line at EWR to be told that his flight was cancelled due to air traffic control restrictions. Any CO employees know what this means exactly?

It means that in order to minimize delays across CO's system that flight was cancelled. Given the choice to operate every flight 4 hours late or most of the flights 90-120 minutes late CO chose to cancel some. Every airline does it to aid air traffic control.
It's a big building with patients, but that's not important right now.

They said that they couldn't get him to MSP until late afternoon on Sat. Since his flight back to EWR was early on Sunday he went home and will try to make the trip in a couple of weeks. Funny thing is that I told him to go on CO instead of NW because of the rash of cancellations! Oh well, live and learn!
