I used to fly KLM a lot between DC and Dubai, the typical NW DC-10 then connect to a KL 767, now i see that KLM has replaced the IAD flight with either a 777 or an A330, then the Dubai route has been replaced by a 777. does KLM has a lot of 767's left? and if so, what are their routes?

thanks for the responses in advance.

Afraid that KLM has no 767s left any more, they have been completely replaced by the A332.

The 767s were retired since March and I can only recall some cities that they used to serve from AMS:

LHR
IAD
ATL
MIA (KL axed MIA years ago, though)
CCS
YVR
IAH
MEM (now flown by a NW A332)
Almaty

beyond that I'm drawing a blank

They also flew them to JFK, SFO, YUL, and EWR. It's a shame, they wore the KL livery very well.

Don't forget the Almaty flight, always operated with 767 equipment until March 2007...

and EWR

Yes I remember seeing a KLM 767 in EWR back in 2001 (before 9-11), it used to occupy its gate at the Northwest Concourse.

That's right. KLM has no more 767's, neither does Air France. Some of the KLM 767's went to Aeroflot, Malev picked up one or two, that's all as far as I know where the KLM 767's went.

As mentioned above, the B763ERs were deployed network wide and over the years many destinations have seen the aircraft: YUL, YVR, JFK, EWR, IAD, ATL, MEM, MIA (now closed), IAH, SFO, CCS, LOS, ABV, KAN, LFW (now closed), DLA (now closed), ABJ (now closed), ACC, DAR, JRO, NBO, CAI, DXB, AUH, DMM, BAH, DOH, KWI, THR, ALA, DEL, to name just a few. The aircraft was also deployed regularly in the European network, including to LHR, SVO, LIS and OPO and was used very regularly for high density substitutions within Europe. The last KLM B763ER flight took place on March 03 0f this year, as KL651/652 AMS IAD AMS.

Amman
Damascus
Tel Aviv
Jeddah
Sana'a
Muscat
Calgary

I believe Milan Linate used to see regular 767 service as well.

AMS-MEM used to be operated by a NW DC-10 and is now done by a NW A330. When did KLM's 763s do the route?

Quoting LHboyatDTW (Reply 2):
YVR

IIRC AMS-YVR was always and still is done by a MD-11.

KLM started the MEM route in 1994 or 1995 IIRC, it was usually served with a MD11 in summers and a 767 in winters. NW took the route over in (?) 2000 or thereabouts. Vancouver has been served by different types including 767, it is now served with a A332.

In September 1998 I flew to MEM on KL625, operated with a MD11 ("Maria Montessori"). May 2003 I went to MEM again, also flight KL625, at that time operated with a B767-300.

Quoting DIJKKIJK (Reply 12):

May 2006 I took KL681 to YVR, a MD11 ("Ingrid Bergmann"). A few months later, in september, I took KL681 again, but now it was an A330 ("Parliament Square, EDI"). Before KL operated the A330, it was a B767-300.

Currently the route is operated with a MD11.

No, KL is even refurbushing the MD11 fleet (was REALLY necessary!). The MD11s get the same WBC seat as the B777/A330 (don't know if that's an real improvement....). Also the nice AVOD will be installed in the MD11, also in m-class. KL will operate the MD11 until at least 2012 (that seems far away in the future, but it's only 5 years....)
