Just wondering about the status of Thomsonflt Long Haul upgrades... 767 Long haul services were meant to be completed by summer 2007 I beleive. Have all been converted? Any photos?

I beleive this is the current line-up of TOM's 763's:

G-OBYD (long haul)
G-OBYE (long haul)
G-OBYI (long haul)
G-OBYG (long haul)
G-OBYJ (long haul)

G-OBYF (328Y short haul)
G-OBYH (328Y short haul)
G-OBYB(328Y short haul)

Please correct me if this is wrong. I also write for a holiday forum, specifically the flights section so I'm hoping to access photo's in the next week.

G-OBYB and G-OBYF are indeed short-haul config aircraft. They got re-fitted with new leather seats last year, and flew on these two aircraft MAN-LPA.

Funny enough I notice that this excellent TR came about a few weeks before I flew the exact route and on the exact aircraft: Thomsonfly 767-300 Manchester-Las Palmas Rtn +pics (by Demoose Jun 27 2006 in Trip Reports)

Nice TR... those "fake recaro" seats will now be used in the short-haul 763s?

Apart from the leather seat facings, the short haul aircraft are pretty much the same as the last time I flew on them. I went to St Lucia and returned via Barbados with TOM in 2005, flying outbound on G-BYAA (762) and inbound on G-OBYF (763). Nice aircraft but it's about time the long haul cabins caught up to the high standards as set out by First Choice. For me, First Choice really are first choice at the moment.

I'll get back to you ASAP with the cabin shots.

The photo's aren't as good as I was expecting, but here you go:

Those seats sure look nicer, but still rather cramped!

I thought they've upgraded the 767s with the new overhead lockers etc... obviously not!

(Thanks, Darren)

As First Choice and ThomsonFly will be one fleet next year it will be interesting that First Choice have 2/3/2 config and Thomsonfly have 2/4/2/ on the same aircraft type. Thomsonfly have an inch more legroom but must be more cramped actually as they do not have the width

Only in premium, both have 33" in economy. Having done some long sectors with FCA in there star class cabins, I must say they are probably the best charter airline in europe at the moment. I've found them excellent. I have 4 trip reports posted in the trip reports section. It was nice that TOM followed suit but keeping the 2-4-2 configuration doesn't give much elbow room. I flew with TOM prior to the refurb on a 10 hour sector which wasn't too bad, but having experienced FCA's product, there no going back.
