If the online reservation system is correct it looks like FL may have dropped IND-LAS before it even started. The route was listed online briefly but no longer appears. I've checked all the way into Feb 08 and I can find no nonstop flights to Vegas.

With NW, US, and WN already battling on the already very low yielding IND-LAS route, why would FL ever want to waste 737-700s on this route? Couldn't they find a better route *cough LGA cough* to fly out of IND?
Interestingly enough, something that is overlooked here is that IND has NO nonstop LCC service from NYC, Boston, Philadelphia, or Washington D.C. Yes, Southwest does fly to BWI, but that is still technically not one of the cities listed above.

Its not in the schedule in December either. It was just a few days ago. Now its gone. Just the other day I was pricing tickets for the first week of January. That is gone now.

Quoting Indy (Reply 5): Actually US/HP doesn't fly to LAS. They used to.
My mistake. I never realized that this service was stopped. When I was in IND in April, I remember seeing a 319 is HP colors, but maybe it was going to PHX, now that I think about it.

FL still has the route listed on the route map. And, I've got FL nonstop from IND-LAS on the reservations system. Flight 719 departs IND at 5:00p.m. and arrives LAS at 6:15p.m. The return 720 departs LAS at 7:05p.m. and arrives IND at 1:40a.m. (all times local). So it looks as if the flights are still there.

With a 1x daily WN flight and and 2x daily NW flights, you don't think FL would work in this market? There is more competition on the IND-NYC routes with NW and US/HP to LGA, DL to JFK, and CO to EWR. Thats part of the reason why I'm assuming B6 hasn't come to IND by now. LCC or no LCC.

Do I think that FL will be able to fill up a couple of 737s to LAS, probably. It is not that hard to fill seats from anywhere to LAS. The hard part will be getting any kind of meaningful yields on this route. The business/high paying crowd are more than likely NW elites, as are most people in the IND area who travel regularly for business. I doubt many people in this crowd will be jumping on to Air Tran flights and paying high fares.
