I was walking down Zhongxiao E. Rd in Taipei last night and noticed a decent-sized Emirates ad on the side of a building. It had a picture of Dubai's waterfront and the Emirates logo. Other than that, it was in Mandarin so I didn't get what it was about. IIRC, EK does not fly to Taiwan. Are they planning on starting flights to TPE? I couldnt find any info on their website, on google or on here. If they dont fly to TPE and arent planning to, why would they advertise in Taipei? Do they codeshare with any Taiwanese airlines?

If not mistaken there are no direct flights between TPE and DXB. But EK may still generate significant revenue from TPE with an interline connection at HKG, even without any codesharing.
