Where Are The Cargo-planes In Moscow?

Just a quick question to any russian members out there.

I was in Moscow on a spotting trip in July. Apts visited were: Domodedovo, Sheremetyevo, Vnukovo and Bykovo.

I noticed that there were almost no cargo-planes present on these airports. Those who went to Russia in the last years said that in the past there were plenty of cargo-planes on these airports, This time, almost none.

Now the question: There has to be cargo in Moscow, and there have to be the planes that fly it. Are there other airports that handle the cargo-traffic now?

Thanks to anyone who can help out.

Mike

Aeroflot currently oprerates 4 DC-10-40F freighters (converted from ex-JL passenger aircraft) and have announced plans to replace them with 6 MD-11s over the next couple of years. Here are the DC-10s:

Where you spotting in the daytime?...most cargo activity around the world takes place at night.

Yes, we were there during daytime.

It's just that some said that for instance in DME, you could see a long line of Il-76's an An-12's and so on parked. I mean if they fly at night, they have to be parked somewehere during the day...

But thanks folks for your replies. We just thought that there must be airflields somwhere outside of MOW where these cargo-planes could be found.

Mike
