That is good that they are coming to US again. I am surprised that they are coming to BDL, Does BDL recently upgrade the taxiway and runways to fit A380? same with CVG?? Since I live less 3 hrs away from CVG. I will try my best to come down there to be part of people to see the historical landing at CVG. Oct 3-4 which is on Wed and Thurs.

There is another thread on this subject called "A380 Comes to BDL" that answers all these questions and more. See:

I can understand CVG as Cincinnati is the HQ for GE aircraft engines, however why would they undergo airport compatibility checks, ground handling and maintenance procedures at CVG? CVG will never see an A380 in regular service.

Not surprised that the A380 will come to SFO in October. After all, Singapore Airlines wants to fly the A380-800 on the SIN-HKG-SFO route (a big moneymaker for the airline), and Lufthansa will probably assign the A380-800 to fly the FRA-SFO route (a big moneymaker for Lufthansa).

CVG has an actual designated spotting area on the east side of the field.

I am not from the Cincinnati area, I live in Florida, but originally from Detroit. Everytime I drive from Detroit to Florida on I-75 I stop at it though. I want to say the exit comes after the I-275 circle called Earlanger or something like that. You go about two miles on a two lane road, then you will see signs that say Aircraft viewing area. It is really good for morning arrivals and you are right next to the runway on the east side of the field.
