You know how some airlines tag your hand baggage for weight/security reasons?
Does Virgin do this in Australia for flights to London? My best friend is flying tomorrow and has a very heavy hand baggage. He says for me to keep it with me whiel he checks in but.. what if they ask to tag it? then he's stuffed.
I suggested he takes a light hand baggage to the counter as he's had to weigh his hand baggage before... and then fill it up with his laptop and books after....that way it can be tagged as security checked (if Virgin Atlantic even does this?)

I flew VS just 2 days ago SYD-HKG (very impressed by the way - they have gotten better since I last flew them). They weighed handluggage to confirm it was under 6kg (mine was 7kg but they let me through) and tagged it as official handluggage. This was checked at the gate.
The same occured at HKG for the return.
Not sure if it made a difference that both flights were 100% full.
