Im just wondering with the new winter schedules coming up are any airlines starting new service into lax or any existing airlines getting more or new routes into LAX and are we going to be looking for any new AC from existing Airlines?

Hi!

Yes, new airlines are coming;

MaxJet LAX-STN 762 starts in a few weeks

Vietnam Airlines LAX-KIX-SGN 777 starts probably end of Oct08

Jet Airways LAX-BRU-DEL/BOM 77W rumored to start in the spirng

V Australia LAX-BNE?/SYD? 77W starts Nov08

Air India is supposed to increase service to LAX and I think they may use their new 77Ws here.

Also CX and PR will probably switch to 77Ws in a few years and TAM Brasil is rumored to be starting service to LAX, probably with M11s or 332s.

LAX ICT start 05SEP for UAX/SkyWest Airlines

SkyWest Airlines is new to enter the LAX DFW service. It's actually a down grade from mainline service for UNITED.
UAX/SkyWest Airlines will operate the service starting 05SEP...

The way Delta is going they should add about 10 more destinations by, say the end of next week!  Smile

I know EK is interested in LAX on a non-stop DXB-LAX routing, but I haven't heard of a firm date for them to enter the market. I assume once the 77L comes on board with EK that they will use that aircraft (unless the 77W can make it, but I'm not sure it can.)

For an A/C enthusiast this sounds like a buffet! 77W's in new colors? A332's on the menu? Maybe an M11 for dessert? LAX is already one of the best airports for plane spotting in terms of variety of airlines and A/C, great to see more coming.

Also, there's a few airlines out there that might bring the A380 to LAX on regular service (Air France might do it in 09, not sure about Qantas and Singapore).

Cheers!

Charles

unfortunately it will be an expressjet Embraer 145. Delta flies to Vancouver and Seattle with those, its almost a 3 hr flight, sheesh.

Qantas will be operating the Whale on MEL LAX once it receive delivery from AIRBUS. SYDLAX will follow as more whales are delivered. I am not sure if SQ will be sending the whale into LAX.

Thanks for the info. I sure hope SQ does send her here...as it is, we get almost every A/C in their heavy fleet (744, 772, 77W, and A345). At least I'll have HUGE kangaroos to look at!
