Wait until V Australia starts to LAX or SFO . Seriously, this is probably best broken down BNE/LAX on QF and then AC or AS from there. Might try also BNE/SYD/HNL with JQ, then rt from HNL to SEA with HA, border hop by bus. Among the best fares are with FJ, so try BNE/NAN/LAX then up with AS, or BNE/NAN/HNL/YVR with FJ and codeshare with AC. Once upon a time I heard JL was pretty cheap for BNE/NRT/YVR, not sure if they still run this route.

This is probably ridiculous, but you could price out:
BNE to HNL or OGG
HNL or OGG to PHX on TZ
Taxi ride from PHX to IWA (secondary Phoenix airport, I hear the code is changing to AZA?)
IWA - BLI (between SEA and YVR, in the US) on G4
Rent a car to drive across the border

How about BNE-SYD on QF then SYD-YVR on AC when are you going? Dec 14 (I believe it is) AC flies non-stop with their 77W. I did this flight last year except on the way down I flew YVR-PDX-LAX-SYD-BNE (Canceling of flights/delays and traveling standby) on QK, UA, QF and QF on the return leg however when everything worked out nicely BNE-SYD-HNL-YVR on QF and AC.
