QFA380 Interior Photos; Any1 Else Released Photos?

I did a search for a topic but couldn't find any, which really amazes me.

I just happened to stumble upon this while browsing through the QF site. It has photos (artist renderings; good ones) of the new first class, business class, premium economy class and economy class. Also there are artist renderings of the A380 with the NEW QF scheme.

http://www.qantas.com.au/info/about/company/A380

IMO the first class seat looks very good, but I'm not going to say anything officially until I see the competition, come on SQ and EK ****AMAZE**** me. The new skybed does not amaze me, though the 2m long bed does sound good; but IMO the skybed is too similar to the one they have, so nothing special (even though the current one is still very good). I think it's good to see that they are introducing premium economy, it doesn't look as spectacular as VS premium economy, but it looks loads better than economy (which looks decent in my opionion as well). Their IFE AVOD sounds good as well, with a lot of choice.

Has any other A380 operators released PHOTOS or artist renderings of their new products (any class welcome), apart from the SQ biz class and economy class (which should be the same as the 77W; correct me please)

I'm sorry if this is a re-run and the topic has been discussed before, but just to make sure, I did use the search function for quite a while.

Thanks.

Amazing! I think Quantas is the first airline to give such precise information about what inside the A380 will be like. Even Economy looks very comfortable, with really wide seats. Premium Economy looks great too, I cannot wait to get on that plane and to see what SQ will make available in two months, and then the rest of the competition...

does anyone notice that the plane in the background is flying from SYD to either LAX or SFO? Is this already planned?

Qantas has already announced that their first routes will be SYD-LAX, MEL-LAX, MEL-LHR and SYD-LHR, and if I'm not mistaken the FIRST route will be MEL-LAX

you would think they would start syd-jfk nonstop or does the A380 not have the range for that?

Why do they have a VMU photo in the photo gallery? Would not the average traveller wonder why the rear of the aircraft is scraping the runway?

Enjoyed the qantas link thanks. Was interesting to note (unless i missed it) that the number of pax wasnt listed. I wonder if thats because they think it might put the more nervous flyers off?

Grrr, I cannot get used to that spelling... Qantas, Qantas, Qantas, Qantas, Qantas...

Anyway, any other carrier disclosed what the cabin will look like?

not quit... The "suites" on the SIA A380 as they are calling them are a bit different from the 777-300ER, the business class is pretty much identical tot he 777 and the economy Im not to sure about... but there will be little upodates made on the current 777-300ER products since SQ has found out what people like and dont like.

I am actually really disapointed in QF. They made what could have been a big deal into nothing at all. they posted the pictures in a place out of the way with no advertising on their website about it and they only provided one picture per class. Maybe they are going to have a grand introduction with the actual seats sometime but I would rather have waited for that then get these little pictures that dont show the elements about the seats. Although all the classes do look really nice if you ask me!

Not from what I have been told. SYD-LAX I believe will be the first [long haul] route. Reason being that SYD will be a A380 mx base. I have also been told that the A 380 will be making another visit to SYD in a few months...[November/December]

Yeah you missed it, it states that the Airbus configuration is 555 but Qantas config is 501. I'm not sure about nervous flyers and the size of the aircraft, Sure it's bigger and therefore heavier with more people so a nervous person may perceive it's harder to get off the ground or stay in the air, but the alternative might be a "smaller" or "older" aircraft which might be more frightening to those concerned.

This is what got my attention

"Stay in touch when you’re in the air with internet and e-mail access on your
seatback or on your own laptop. The Qantas A380 also has SMS and telephone
connectivity."

Looking forward to internet on planes again. I hope SQ do the same. I wonder what system they are using?

Hope this doesn't mean cellphones, just SMSing from the IFE, which could be a very good system if it doesn't become too expensive.

I agree. I sat opposite to someone in first class from Singapore to London who spoke for no less than 4 hours on one of those in seat telephones. Although he was not very loud it was still back ground noise I could have done without as it was a night flight. He clearly had lots of money.

Cell phones would make it worse.

pardon my ignorance, but what is the reasoning of putting MEL-LAX before SYD-LAX? I am assuming that the SYD route is more of a flagship route than the MEL one, no? Wouldn't putting your brand spankin new plane type on your flagship route make sense? Is this one of those frequency vs. capacity things?

MEL is strained at the moment...and desperately needs the capacity and range of this aircraft...thus the reasoning behind it being the first route. (I have been told that it will operate on certain days between SYD-LAX and MEL-LAX...ie the routing will be MEL-LAX-SYD-LAX-MEL..etc....until they have more than 4 aircrafts.)

MEL only has 2 direct flights.
