According to a recent Aviation Daily, SV is applying to fly to IAH from JED. There were no schedules given but the article stated IAH would be flown via BRU. The article also mentioned JFK but didn't specify if the flight would be IAH-JFK-BRU-JED or only IAH-BRU-JED but did also mention flights JFK-BRU-JED. SV has to get government approval from the US to get IAH added to its US operating certificate.

Well, an SV 772 next to the EK 77L would look rather nice at Terminal D.

Unfortunately, much ado about nothing- This is for Saudi Cargo, who actually already flies here on the same routing. Might just be a renewal of their license.

The Main SV Office for North America including its HR division is based in Houston as well.

I suspected as much, too bad. BTW, had it been a pax service, looking at the stops made in BRU and JFK, likely would have likely doomed the service, considering that EK will be starting a similar non-stop route in Dec.

That said, I have always been curious as to why SV never started pax flights into IAH years ago, all the while allowing RJ, GF (both failing on the route) and now EK beating them to the punch as well as QR hinting at an IAH service in the coming years.

Thomas
