How about AA to PEI are we ever going to see that Happend???? i think MIA-PEI in AA in a 738 twice or three times a week would be awesome for them????

Are we ever going to see the AVA A-330 in LAX???

Welcome to Anet!  Smile
I know that Avianca has a one-stop MD-83 flight from PEI to MIA, but do they have any non-stops at peak times? I guess if an American airline was to fly there it would be AA. They would probably use, as you said, a B738 or, I guess, possibly an MD-83?

Hello! and welcome!
Apart from the 4th weekly flight to LAX, AV will also increase CLO-MAD from 2 to 4 flights a week, and BOG-ALC-BCN-BOG from one to 2 a week. That makes BCN 3 weekly (as there in the non-stop BOG-BCN-BOG)
VLN will also go daily. LIM will be going from 11 a week to 1twice daily from December.

IB will increase to 10 (from 7) flights a week the MAD-BOG from January.
Air Comet will increase from 3 to 4 weekly from November, and and add a fifth from January.

From MIA, AA will restart BAQ, daily, from 13th Dec. BOG will go from 14 to 19 a week, and MDE be permanently 10 weekly from that date.

Watch out for Spirit starting service to Colombia. We should see developments on that very soon, as more frequencies become available for US carriers after the renegociation of the US-Colombia bilateral agreement on aviation.

Yet more routes should be started After March next year as AV starts getting new planes.

Welcome to the world of Aviancaholics! For some reason, this airline has dedicated fans from all around the world, including myself who grew up flying their 707's and 720B's way back in the 70's and 80's.

I too am curious about how they will implement their A330's, as well as the A320's and B787 when they eventually arrive.

awesome guys...so How about AA to PEI I think that in the long run AA would benefit from that route knowing the amount of Pereiranos in Miami and sorroundings...and yes 4C does fly PEI - PTY I believe in three X's week....The servie Between BGA - PTY I don't really see any reason to it.... PEI is far bigger ctiy than BGA and moves a lot more international traffic specially since AXM and MZL don't have much frecuencies from AV....it would be nice to see the AV A332 here in LAX some day..... to those Aviancafanaticos in LA let know where u guys and we can meet and disccuss our Avianca views....I would love to see this route it might work but might also be just a dream BOG - YVR - NRT and I also would like to see PEI - MAD- PEI... I know the second one is more a dream but hey you never know....

Hello Fellow A.netters Im new as well...PEI defenetly needs a non-stop from AA or CO to ease getting there non-rev since AV is the only option when flying stand-by. I can't wait for the day VS flies to my home country....Cheers

It's great to see some Lat Am countries like Colombia experience such a great increase in services! And excellente strategic movements made by Avianca in fleet and route development to become one of the leaders in the region!
Felicitaciones Colombia! We should emulate you down here....

I would like to see that too!
At the moment VS has to thread very carefully though, as their financial results were very poor recently. Their main operation performed poorly, but it was really dragged down by the venture in Nigeria.

Still, I am sure that if they took the iniative, they would make BOG work, even out of LGW, as the A340s are perfect for that operation. I am not holding my breath though.

In another matter, I was referred to the note below, where Air Canada states its interest in having an extra weekly frequency to BOG. They will apply to Aerocivil as soon as they have an aircraft available. This will come from the enry into service of new planes (I guess it's the 77W that would allow spare 767s)

I have noticed how well AC are doing on Bogota, with very good load factors this year.

Virgin Nigeria created big money losses for VS but VS has plans for South America service in 2008 with Brazil being the first route from LHR but who knows maybe BOG can be in their plans as well.
