The Economics Of The MD10

How economical would it be for an airline to upgrade their DC-10's to MD-10's. Take Ghana Airways for example, they have tremendous experience with the DC-10 and as I understand are not in a position to replace them with newer types. Instead of replaicng them how econimacally fesible would it be to upgrade them to MD-10's like FedEX did for it's cargo operations. Would save the airline a significant amount of money in operating costs?
