Air China In Star Alliance?

I know that Air China and Lufthansa have a good relationship but does that mean Air China will enter Star Alliance? I also know that Air China code-share with Northwest, will Air China dump Northwest and go to Star?

I have thought about this too, and it is hard to tell. When I was in the PRC and flew Air China the Northwest alliance was definitely more visible to me than the LH alliance, and plus Air China also cooperates with KLM, Northwest's main partner. So I think that if Air China joined an alliance, it would join NW/KLM's. I think Star would have more to offer Air China, but I don't think regulators would be too happy about the idea if one of the largest airlines in China joined the largest alliance in the world.
