DL MD-90 In N/C At ATL

Just saw it parked at the DL North ramp today. Didn't get a chance to catch the tail number though.

Did any of the MD-90s make it into the 'old new' scheme? I gather that the delivery dates (95 -96) mean that they were passed over when that design came out on '97, so they'll go directly from old old to new new.

Yup! That's an MD-90. You can see the two VCSF (VSCF?) scoops on the right side of the fuselage. That's an easy way to tell an -88 from a -90 without seeing the empennage or the larger engines.

I snapped a picture of that aircraft in 1998 in Dallas from the left seat of a 737-500. At the time, it was painted in the old widget colors. The only reason I brought this up is because I was going through my photos earlier today and it was the only Delta MD-90 I had in my extensive collection of over 1500 photos, dating back as far as 1965. I found it interesting to see that and come here and find out it was the first one to be painted in the new colors.
