1 - C-390 is just a concept, not being offered for sale AFAIK.
2 - A pure military transport (e.g. C-390, C-17) will NEVER be cost/price competitive with a freighter based on high-volume civil airliners (like 737, 727, A320, etc).
3 - ECT (Brazil Post Office) had no competency in operating an airline arm.
It is a dumb idea all around. IMHO, Embraer just called on a favor to get ECT mention the C-390.

That is the important one.
This is politicians (ECT is state run) trying to look good by "helping" a high profile industry. The allegations of "government subsidy" alone more than negate any possible benefit to Embraer with regard to the marketability of the C-390.
